Our deepest human desire is to belong and to be loved intimately. So many times our human relationships fall short to fill the void in our hearts and for good reason. The hole we all have is the same and it can only be filled by the love of our Creator. Unfortunately, our sin, or things we do in our lives that go against God's framework for life, create a barrier between us and God. God loves us so much, even in our sin, that He couldn't stand for there to be such a separation. To correct this, He sent His Son to pay for the consequences for our short-comings by dying on a Roman cross. The sacrifice of a perfect, holy man (though fully God) is the only way the barrier could be removed and we could be restored to God. Each person has to decide if she wants to accept the sacrifice paid on her behalf in order for that forgiveness to be realized. What a love! God pulled out ALL the stops in order to be able to have you with Him.
