Inspiration for "Devotion"
If you're like most, the busy of life can fight for your attention even over your purpose from God. One's occupation, family and even volunteerism can crowd out the very reason we were put on this planet: to honor and glorify God through a life of spreading the good news! All of those things are great, until they climb up to an unfit place in your list of priorities. If you look at the verses that come before this particular passage, you will learn that Paul is specifically talking about a young man or woman's decision to be married. Marriage is a beautiful thing, meant to represent the love God has for us (the church). However, with it comes a certain division of our focus and motivations. He is reminding us in verse 35 to keep our distractions in check, keeping our first love at the forefront.
